As you can also see here on the Right side of this text you will see firefighters working on the trucks in this training program. This is to ensure that the firefighters have a basic knowledge of how the truck runs so just in case if they need to, they can quick diagnose a problem if one arises because when they are out in the field they will more or so likely not have access to a mechanic which could be 50 miles away back to their camp. And again, remember that these people go into the places where there is high terrain and mountains. Muddy water and other terrain that is hard to access. So, the last issue that they want is to go to an active wildfire scene and have their truck break on them so when the fire is coming their only other option is to run on foot.

The Florida Forestry Service is a well know institute for Wild Fires and as well with training grounds in the state of Florida. They are well know for helping volunteer agencies in the state of Florida with grants, training opportunities and as well with mutual aid/help. They also like to partner up with US Forestry which also helps provides more training opportunities which is free for Volunteers to take. For example you have the South Eastern Training ground which provides a elaborate training on outside fires and pump operations for firefighters. This is a advance course which demonstrates on math to run the pumps. EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course) that is a lot more advance for the firefighters just incase they have to use those skills really fast to get them out of situations that they should not be in when it comes down to the fire ground.
